Who can be the paid caregiver?
Most adult family members, friends, or neighbors who can legally work in the US. In PA, spouses and the person’s power of attorney can’t.
Does the person getting care pay anything?
Not under the Medicaid programs - Medicaid covers it. If you pay privately instead, we tell you the cost upfront. No surprises.
Can I switch to Accu and keep my caregiver?
Yes. Your caregiver stays the same - only the agency changes. We time it so nobody misses a paycheck.
Do I need training or a certificate?
Not to care for family. We give you the short orientation the program requires - that’s it. Our own agency caregivers are trained and checked separately.
